What’s this blog all about and do I really need another one?

I started this blog a few nights ago because I felt the need to have a new creative outlet for my writing. I absolutely love writing and I plan to do it a lot more regularly. And there is a book in me somewhere waiting to be unleashed – soon, very soon!

I started my first blog here which was another random musings site, for the year that I lived in Ghana. It was originally going to be a way to keep friends and family updated on my adventures and while I really enjoyed writing it, I was not very regular at doing it, and since returning home in 2011, it is no longer really relevant and I have not posted on it since.

I started my second blog here after I got home from Ghana, and found myself in reverse culture shock and not understanding anything about life as I thought I knew it to be. I was so confused about everything, I had no idea where I belonged, what was real, what I was here to do, how to fill my time, what work to do and the list goes on.

Again I wrote fairly infrequently depending on what was going on in my life, and I was under a fair bit of pressure during a particular time in my career which left no time or space in my brain for creative pursuits. As I have moved on since that time, I will be farewelling that blog as it has served it’s purpose, as you will see next.

In September 2013 I took a leap of faith and stepped out on my own to start my business Transpiral and began blogging here, which I have done with the same irregular frequency. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it – I love it, but I have not prioritised it as I should. Also I found that I had things I often wanted to write, and while I do get personal on my business page, some things just didn’t fit. I will continue to write there also.

So, this will be my page for all sorts of random stuff that doesn’t fit anywhere else. I never actually plan my writing, it is usually triggered by a thought in the shower, while doing the dishes, or seeing or hearing something and the need to write comes. I have been stifling it a bit, due to time constraints and not feeling like I had an outlet, but now I will be letting it out, whatever and whenever.

I swear occasionally, I will talk about anything that comes to mind, I will be open, personal, honest, vulnerable and real. I don’t think there will be any sense of a theme, at least I don’t think there will, but I would love to have you along for the ride should you wish to join me.
